    Boulder Reservoir
    Washoe County

It's small and it's a far distance to travel too, but the adventure is worth it. Boulder Reservoir may be viewed as a tiny speck when you compare it too all of it's landscape and wildlife surroundings. Take note in some of the wildlife you might catch on your way to Boulder: mule deer, antelope, sage grouse, mallard ducks, wild horses...etc.

    Regulations
General regulations apply. Season is open year around, any hour of the day or night. Limit is 5 trout.

    Boating Regulations
    No special regulations apply.

    Fish Species

    • Rainbow Trout
    • Bowcutt (Rainbow x Cutthroat)

    Camping
Camping is available around the reservoir, but be aware there are no bathrooms or trash cans so please be sure to take out what you bring into the reservoir.

    Advice and Tips
Float tubes and small boats are recommeded. Fishing from shore can be difficult due to all of the vegetation.

    Getting Here
FROM RENO — Travel east on Interstate 80 to the Wadsworth exit and then travel north on State Route 447 for about 100 miles until you get to Gerlach. Travel through Gerlach and follow the road to the right when the highway splits (Secondary State Route 34). Drive approximately 80 miles where you'll find a dirt road that turns to the left (there should be a sign indicating Boulder Reservoir), follow that road for about 8 miles to the reservoir. Please note that there is a Boulder Reservoir and a Boulder Lake. The lake is dried up and un-fishable.
